I build the software field teams carry.

Eighteen years of shipping business‑critical mobile apps and the platforms behind them: thirteen of them at Sharewire in The Hague, where I went from Android developer to CTO of Salesboard, a field‑sales platform used by energy, telecom and fibre companies in nine countries. Today I work full stack on FieldBuddy’s field‑service platform.

Full stack on a field‑service platform used by technicians every day

After Relyon acquired Sharewire and wound down Salesboard, I moved fully to the Relyon product line, now FieldBuddy. In May 2025 I started on FieldBuddy GO, the new mobile app: offline‑first .NET 9 MAUI and Blazor Hybrid for Android and iOS, syncing encrypted local SQLite data over gRPC. Since 2026 I work full stack across the whole platform: the mobile app, the sync server and APIs, the RelyonNext back‑office, and the AI assistants we are bringing into the products.

Recent work includes fault‑tolerant sync with per‑item results, tenant‑timezone audit stamps, an iOS image pipeline fix for blurry uploads, rate limiting on the auth endpoints, and bringing AI assistants into both the product and the engineering workflow.

Salesboard and the platform underneath it

Salesboard: a tablet that closes the sale at the door

2011 – 2024iOS · Android · Angular PWAPHP / Yii2 · Elasticsearchrole: developer → CTO

Salesboard gave door‑to‑door and SME sales reps one device for the whole pitch: leads on a map, branded presentations and pitch cards, forms that fill themselves from address data, and contracts signed on the spot. Managers published content and watched conversions live. Customers included Eneco, E.ON, Essent, Total/Lampiris, Proximus, Delta Fiber, Vodafone, Origin Energy, AGL, toob and Médecins Sans Frontières.

I wrote the first Android tablet app and its JavaScript add‑on API in 2011, led the move to the native iPad and Android generation sold through the app stores, then architected the 2019 pivot to an Angular web app and PWA that replaced both. From 2014 I ran engineering end to end: the multi‑tenant backend, releases, hiring, security, and the technical due diligence when Relyon and Main Capital acquired the company in 2022.

An address and geo platform built from open data

2013 – 2024Elasticsearch · OpenStreetMap · tippecanoemy own domain: ~1,200 commits

Field sales lives and dies by addresses. Instead of paying per lookup, I built a geocoding and address service that ingests national open datasets, interpolates house numbers along streets, resolves what a rep types, and serves the addresses around their position. Per‑campaign map tiles were generated with tippecanoe and served from our own tile servers.

It ran in production for a decade and let Salesboard open new countries with data work rather than new licences.

Remote selling and remote signing

2020 – 2021WebRTC · signalling server · short links · SMS

When door‑to‑door stopped in 2020, we made the pitch work over a browser call. I designed the WebRTC meeting room with screen sharing that needed no software on the customer’s side, and a remote signing flow: the rep sends a short link, the customer signs on their own phone, and the signed PDF flows back through each customer’s integration service to their CRM and ERP.

Integrations that let big customers keep their systems

2016 – 2024Laravel · Salesforce · Pipedrive · Zapier · HubSpot

A shared ServiceHub SDK plus a small Laravel service per customer took every signed document and delivered it wherever that customer needed it: third‑party verification vendors, SFTP drops, CRM connectors, order flows for fibre roll‑outs. A central login service handled Google, Salesforce and Pipedrive sign‑in, and a Zapier app opened the platform to everyone else.

Agency years: apps for the Dutch public and ministries

2011 – 2013Android · BlackBerry · iOSSharewire, The Hague

Before Salesboard filled every day, I was an Android developer on Sharewire’s agency work: the Greetz card editor, the Buienradar weather apps (where I wrote the test plan and built push notifications), the Ministry of Security and Justice news app launched in December 2012, and the Ministry of Finance apps for Prinsjesdag 2012 and Verantwoordingsdag 2013, where I shipped every Android release. Earlier still, Marktplaats on BlackBerry was my first project.

On the team side I handled releases and production issues for TUI, Pathé and Rijkswaterstaat’s “Van A naar Beter”, and taught the Android track at The Hague Mobile Academy.

About

Portuguese engineer, Dutch career

I studied Computer Science Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon (MSc, 2008, thesis on virtual interactions in the space domain), moved to the Netherlands in 2011, and have lived and worked in the Randstad since. Early in the Salesboard years I was mentored by Dirk‑Willem van Gulik, co‑founder of the Apache Software Foundation, who later returned as the independent reviewer of the platform for its acquisition.

I like products where the software has to work in the field, offline, on someone else’s hardware, and where the people using it are not the people who bought it.
